CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT
I have directed all stages of curriculum development initiatives from conceptual analysis to timely delivery of effective learning experiences for in-person, hybrid, and e-learning formats.
My strategy in developing long-term training curriculums that improve both employee performance and customer satisfaction begins with establishing clear learning objectives over time, identifying key performance indicators, and choosing appropriate training methods based on needs analysis. Through team collaboration, we define implementation roles, establish timelines, develop engaging training materials, and monitor success.
Sharing a recent example, my team was assigned a two-year government contract to provide training for people in underserved communities interested in becoming crop insurance adjusters. We established our objective of providing 24 hours of training to multiple training groups in a virtual classroom setting, coordinated over 15 subject matter experts, created 28 intensive training presentations, utilized regular quizzes as KPI, and provided weekly reports to stakeholders. Through this experience, my team was able to learn new skills improving their overall performance. For the participants, they found the program was valuable as indicated by including the training on their resumes and being hired by crop insurance companies.
LEADERSHIP
My leadership style is a blend of servant and transformational characterized by empathy, collaboration, foresight, and data-driven decision-making. I practice genuine empathy through active listening and showing compassion. I promote collaboration which is fostered by building trust and encouraging the free exchange of ideas. Deepened by compassion and trust, I encourage foresight that involves reflecting on past successes and failures to make plans for improvements. Last but not least, data-driven rounds out my style by using data to help identify the best solutions from the ideas generated by my team.
One significant leadership example of how I used training to drive improved customer experience is when I pitched the idea and led the initiative to translate our in-person work into a virtual work environment. I researched technologies and features, devised a training plan, and trained my immediate staff to support others. With the inclusion of IT, we formed the Virtual Meetings Tech Team, supporting 5 to 7 meetings and events each week. This effort directly impacted attendance at our training events, with our largest events more than doubling to over 500 attendees. Additionally, we recorded the events, creating valuable assets for our training library.

I managed the strategic redesign of organizational training programs, including eLearning, leading to a 150% increase in engagement contributing to the company's business transformation goals.
As the Director of Training & Education for NCIS, I ensure that training programs align with the company's business goals and customer experience strategies through regular meetings with executive leadership, focus groups of customers, and customer surveys.
For example, after learning how our training focus group repurposes the training materials we provide them, I led the initiative to standardize the formatting of presentations utilized by multiple subject matter experts. This standard format saves significant time for training experts, especially when turnaround times are tight, and the process is still in use today.
